Global Imaging Systems Acquires Alabama Division of The Stewart Organization; Boosts Xerox's Expansion in SMB, Managed Services Marketplace
BIRMINGHAM, Ala., – Global Imaging Systems (GIS), A Xerox Company, has acquired the Alabama division of The Stewart Organization, Inc., one of the largest document equipment dealers in North America.
Under the acquisition agreement, the division will be named Stewart of Alabama, Inc., and will offer Xerox’s managed services along with office and printing technology.
“We continue to put an emphasis on acquiring locally based companies that provide quality products and solutions and have a reputation for delivering world class customer service,” said Michael Pietrunti, senior vice president, Acquisitions, Corporate Services and Marketing, GIS. “This acquisition complements our existing footprint in Alabama.”
Vincent Caltagirone, who has served as president of the Birmingham-based operation since 2002, will continue in that role with the new company. “As we look to further strengthen our solutions and continue to deliver uncompromising customer service, GIS and Xerox were the right partners to ensure ongoing success and growth,” said Caltagirone.
Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
